i've been on YAZ birth control for a year,
and have never missed taking my pills.
i've gotten my period every month. i
haven't gotten it yet this month, and i've
taken all my "sugar" pills. I feel like i
have my period though, with cramps and
all. should I just start another pack of
pills on my regular time...or could i be
pregnat??

If you think you might be pregnant, you
should take a test. Birth control is not
100% effective even when it's taken
correctly.

would definitely take a test

I've recently experienced the same thing.
I went to a my doctor, and i wasnt
pregnant, nor are you. The birth control
pill is more effective than a condom. Both
is better, but if you were choosing one
over the other. Birth control is the way
to go. Although, many people would
probably argue the fact. If you take your
pill as regular as you say you do, you are
not pregnant. However, i've seen a few
cases myself when girls have been taking
antibiotics while taking the pill and have
gotten pregnant. It is possible if this
occurs. So when your taking antibiotics,
be extra careful. The birth control pill
is 99.9% effective. This percentage wasnt
randomly thought of by a bunch of dumbies.
If they didnt know what they were talking
about, it wouldnt be on the pack!

number from, but it's inaccurate.
Typically, 5 people out of 100 will get
pregnant while using the pill ever year.
That means it's around 95% effective.
With PERFECT USE it might be closer to
99%, but perfect use is rare. By perfect
use, I mean never missing a pill and
taking it at the same time every single
day.

i'm on yaz as well..keep us posted please,
i'm paranoid about getting pregnant..take
my pill religiously at the same time every
day but am thinking about being more
strict about using a spermicide as well
since neither my boyfriend or i like
condoms (we used to use them before i got
on the pill and they would always cause
some sort of irritation for me)
