A lot of girls I know are smaller than a size 14, including me, and their definitely not "nasty". That's a very rude thing to say.

Diddo. I myself am a size 7.

I've moved up from a size 3 to a size 5, and I'm nowhere near "nasty". I think that was a terribly rude thing to say. Are you aware that you've potentially offended many women here? I know you've offended me.

Please take care with your words in the future.

Probably should think before you speak given that I'm not even 5' tall if I was a size 14 I'd probably put myself at risk for health problems.

Well I'm not offended. I don't believe that women who are smaller are nasty - but there is a such thing as too thin. I also think there is a such thing as too large.

I wonder what your frame size is, a size 14 could be very unhealthy on you. Gaining weight is simply taking in more calories than you burn. However, you don't want to gain weight in an unhealthy way either. The calories in a ho-ho are far different than the calories in, say, fruits and veggies. The calories in fruits and veggies come with their own vitamins and minerals. I don't think the calories in a ho-ho come with anything but cellulite. Wink

You'd need to exercise to keep all that weight from turning into unhealthy fat.

I'm a size 7 myself, and am definitely at a healthy weight. I'm not "nasty" by any means. Depending on your height and frame, a size 14 would be considered overweight, which is NOT healthy.

I'm about 6ft tall & a UK size 14/16 (a US size 12/14), & honestly, if I was much bigger I'd be overweight. My BMI is only just in the "healthy" category.

I have an idea,

You could eat McDonalds three times a day, have another kid or two and sit around and do nothing all day for a while and you might be successful.

Why in the world would you want to increase your body size that much? You would have to have a very small frame if you were size 0 before you had your son. You shouldnt want to be that size unless you are very tall and have a bigger build. Otherwise it could be hazardous to your health.

I am also not offended. I also think that there is too thin and too thick. But every women is different and I look better thicker than thinner. I guess it depeneds on lots of things like your height, your bone structure, and how you carry the weight.

I am actually happy with my size. I wish I was a little bigger though. I am a size 8, with the pregnant boobies and belly...lol. Or I should say evened out. I have huge tits and this rounds lil belly and tiny legs and arms...lol

But I was a 3 at one time. For my height 5'4" thats scary thin. But I definately think that society and the way we are raised affects how thin/thick we THINK we should be.

I'm 5'4" and am normally a size 3. I recently moved up to a size 5 because of my early pregnancy bloating. After my daughter's birth in 2006 I was a size 7 for close to a year, and happily so. The weight eventually came off naturally through breastfeeding and general exercise keeping up with her as she developed. I was happy as a size 7, happy as a size 3, and am now happy as a size 5.

I don't see anything wrong with setting goals for yourself, but I definitely do see something wrong with making statements specifically designed to makes others feel bad about their bodies. Why should I feel "nasty" as a size 3 any more than another woman should feel "nasty" about NOT being a size 3? Everyone should embrace their body as their own, set healthy goals that they're comfortable with, and learn to respect each other and keep offensive opinions and remarks to themselves.

It seems you are concerned about your weight as well. I am personally a size 3-7 depending on the pants. Dress size 4. I don't care about my weight, I care about being healthy. I don't see why you would want to gain when it could put you at risk for heart disease and diabetes. Extra weight is not healthy, neither is excessive skinniness.

I am also not personally offended by the comment but I do think it is rude to say people are nasty for being a certain size. Why not educate yourself on being healthy, not a certain size?

For me, beauty isn't measured by the size of pants you wear, but rather the size of your heart.
Classifying ppl just for their size is pretty shallow.

I feel sorry for you, i really do.

I totally agree with you Michelle. People really need to start focusing on whats in the inside rather than what they see on the outside.

im sorry if i offened anyone, wasnt my meaning. just all my life ppl gave me a hard time for being thin and that made me feel nasty. i just diddt write my thoughts out right. some smaller sizes arent nasty i just generalized it instead of refering to myself on how i feel about myself. i should think harder before i write. i just want a lot of weight so ppl will stop poking at me for being too thin. >< sorry ladies, i really diddnt mean to offend you.

You think that if you gain a lot of weight, people will stop giving you a hard time? They'll probably start giving you a hard time for weighing so much, or they'll start in about how you raise your son, or how you style your hair. People don't stop making comments just because you give in to their words. They just switch their topic.

Instead of worrying so much about what other people think, you should try to build your self confidence. If they tease you about being thin, just shrug it off and smile, or say something like "I guess God wanted me to be this way". Forcing yourself to go up 14 sizes is drastic and probably unhealthy, and in all likelyhood it won't look good on you at all.

Embrace your figure. You're you and you're beautiful, no matter what you look like or how much you weigh. Don't let others' words affect that.

Our society is pretty messed up when it comes to weight but we are also a very lazy society!

I eat and try to work out. Can't right now due to medical reasons.

I am a size 4 and weigh 110. I am small boned. This is the way I am. Some people may think I am too skinny but I don't care. This is the way God made me. I eat over 2,300 calories a day and nothing happens. There is nothing physically wrong with me. I do have to eat more protein compared to the average person to not lose more weight. If someone thinks I look nasty, so be it. I am comfortable with who I am and nothing will ever change that. I can't help that I have a fast metabolism. I eat more than the average person.

So be it!

It sounds to me that you have issues with the way you look and need to work on that somehow.

I know you didn't mean to make the rest of us feel bad by your comments. I used to be in your position. People would comment to me all the time on how I looked anorexic. I hated it. I was a size 0 and did consider myself too skinny and "nasty" looking - because that is the way society treated me. I basically became depressed because and had what people say ingrained into beliefs about myself.

Please please just concentrate on being healthy. That means exercising and eating right. Try working out on weights. That usually helps for me. Don't try to be someone you are not. If you are still small but healthy...that is the way you are supposed to be.

I am A size 12 or 13 before I got pregnant.. sometimes... I could fit into a 9.. but that was with a LOT of squeezing. Trust me.. It is not easier when you are bigger. I wish everyday that I could be a smaller size.. like a 5 to a 7.. but.. I have been told with my frame I would not look right with that... That I would have to wear a 9 comfortably.. I am only 5'3 ... but I have a large frame.. so....
