You don’t need an echo to check your
heart rate. an echo is used to visualize
the heart’s anatomy and to check some
hemodynamic parameters. A murmur can due
to certain structural defects that can be
visualized by echo-cardiography. Sometimes
a heart murmur can be functional and due
to no structural damage of the heart.
Normal heart rate when at rest is in the
range of 60-80 beats per minute. It
normally rises when physically active. It
is likely you probably have a type of
tachycardia but only an ECG-examination
can tell us what kind of tachycardia.
Tachycardia can be due to many reasons:
heart disorders, anemia, hypothyroidism,
dehydration, stress, drugs, fiver…
You may want to request an ECG from your
GP.
