one day period on the pill Posted: 03-17-08 10:03am
I've been on the Pill for almost 4 years
now. Back in the middle of January was the
last time that I had sex (he never
finished in me) and I was due to get my
period at the end of January. It started a
few days early (on Friday) and was a
normal period for me (I have had my
periods start early before) and I ended up
going straight to a new pack of pills
instead of taking the placebo week. My
period eventually ended a few days later.
Last month, I got my period like normal.
Now this month, it started a few days
early again (on Saturday) and was quite
heavy, but the next day it had stopped.
Now it is Monday and nothing else has
really happened. I still kind of feel a
bit "yucky" down there though, like it
might start again...but it hasn't.
I feel fine in every other way, except I
have just been a bit stressed lately. I've
read that sometimes you can get one-day
periods on the pill? I just don't know if
I should be worried, because I never have
had a one day period.
What do you guys think??

Have you skipped the placebo week often?
If it was the first time you've done that,
it's common to get some weird bleeding
patterns.
Or even if you normally skip the placebo
week, that could also explain the period.
Pills do make your period lighter (for
many women) so don't worry at all.

No, I hadn't skipped it in about a year.
It messed me up then too, but the opposite
way - I had my period for about 1 month
straight!
Anyways, I talked to the nurse at my
doctor's office, and she said not to be
worried because I have had 2 periods since
I've last had sex.
Thanks for your reply

THAT is what happens when you FIRST try
and skip your period, you will often bleed
for one month, BUT THEN you are able to
skip.
SO MANY women do not understand that
usually you just cannot 'skip a period' on
the first try.
