Hi all. Please can anyone help!!! I am 35 weeks pregnant and have painful external hemrhoids. I've had them about 5 weeks and tried over the counter cream to no avail. I visited my GP last week who prescribed me pesseries and cream but since it has seemed to worsen and got bigger. I am at my wits end and worried sick about having it whilst giving birth!! My diet is great and I have suffered no constipation at all in pregnancy. Can anyone advise. thanks x

Ingi's right, you need to see your doctor again. I suffer from external hemorrhoids & have done for years.. sometimes they flare up, but most of the time they don't really bother me. Childbirth made them worse for me, but my GP prescribed me a few different ointments & I found one that worked. Unfortunately you can never truly get rid of them without having an operation (which is very painful afterwards!), but you can ease the symptoms & help them a lot. Good luck.
