Panic attacks hands shaking
Posted: 03-30-08 22:11pm

so I was at my friends party in like november and all of a sudden my hands started shaking and I couldnt breathe. Also now ever since then like at lunch I will just like weirdly be out of breath and it would be hard to breate so I would have to yawn a few times or like have to breathe really slowly. Also when this happens I start shaking all over like I'm cold but its not cold or anything. And I'm now doing A weird stretching thing with my neck. Like I roll my neck its just weird. Can you guys tell me if these are panic attacks and what I can do to control them when they happen. But I don't know what causes them.

My mom gets panic attacks frequently. When she has them she usually shakes uncontrollably. When this happens to you, what are you thinking about? Is it something that's making you anxious or nervous, or does it just happen out of no where for no apparent reason?
At this point all I know of is deep breathing. When my mom gets them in the car she finds it helps if she opens the window. There's also a pill that she takes from time to time that just calms down her nervous system, but I don't know what it's called. You might want to ask your doctor about it.

Hi There

My wife suffers from panic attacks. I think yours maybe more anxiety than full blown panic attack.

Tips: -

Sit still with your eye's closed and breathe slowly. Breathe in for 4 seconds, then out for 5 seconds.

If you are having problems breathing it sounds like you could be hyperventilating. Try breathing into a paper bag, to replace the carbon dioxide you my be loosing. You may get some funny looks but who cares.

If you think it is very uncomfortable for you then please seek medical advice. I know I am from the UK, but i am sure there are very good therapists out there how could help you.

Please keep us up to date.

I have silent 2 minute fear attacks im not sure if they are panic attacks or not.

But randomly i will all of a sudden feel so overwhelmed about live and existence and my point in being in a certain (any) situation that I am feel immense fear. I suffer this in silence.

Sometimes I would want to go to the washroom to calm myslef.

Is this a panic attack or something else?????

Panic attacks are generally caused by how you improperly process thoughts often in regards to a physical sensation and this often happens during sleep. I would encourage you to look into learning cbt coping strategies. Cbt is great for panic anxiety and depression but you have to do the exercises everyday so it does take a lot of work and self discipline. It is self-help so you can do it on your own if you are willing to work at the exercises like the tea form. I still do the tea form exercise that I learned in the book by sam obitz daily and the thought processes that eliminate panic and anxiety do become ingrained over time but you have to do the tea forms everyday!

Those definatley sound like panic attacks, do yuo hands feel trembley? Do you find yourself short of breath, or you're very aware of your breathing? feel smothered? do you get weird feelings in your head, then snap back into it?

I suffer from panic attacks, considering i have panic disorder, you most likely have it.

I strongly suggest getting prescribed with prozac to reduec these feelings, and these attacks usually start during adolesence (13-18ish) so good luck!
