paternity questions
Posted: 03-22-08 11:29am

Okay. I'm in a situation here. I'm pregnant and had a few questions about paternity. I had my period Sept 22nd, 07 and had unprotected sex with a friend Oct 4th(i was fertile) I had an EARLY period Oct 15th, 2007. Lasted normal days. I met my current boyfriend Oct 17th and slept with him Oct 20th, 25th, 26th, and 29th . My due date is July 21st by Ultrasounds...was july 21st, then july 25th...Doctors and nurses on that lil pregnancy wheel says conception would take place Oct 29th. Whose most likely to be the dad?? I am 20 weeks and 6 days as of today, March 9th 2008....please help me understand this!??

i would maybe guess the boyfriend you are with now?
but a DNA test after birth would tell you who the father is for sure.
did both guys finish inside you?

Even though you are fertile while you are having sex, it doesn't necessarily mean that you are going to conceive. The early period means nothing.

I don't even know why you are worried about the previous relationship here. A period means that you are not pregnant and the conception date that is being told you by the doctors even indicates that the guy you are with is the father. There can be some deviations with dates, but there is no way they would deviate more than 2 weeks: ultra sounds are pretty accurate.

If this makes no sense to you, then you can get a paternity test after the baby is born, but it is not necessary. I am positive the guy you are with is the father, so breathe easy.

hiya. i hope you can help me

me and my partner split up in october and i slept with another boy. this was ongoing for a week. the last time i slept with him was the 23rd oct and i did a pregnancy test on the 24th October which was negative. i then got back with my partner on the 26th. i had a period from the 27-31 october. i did a pregnancy test around the 6th November which was negative. me and my partner had been sleeping together everyday since we got back togther. i then did a test on the 1st december which was positive.is there any way the baby could the be the 1st lads? please get back to asap. i think i am just being stupid as if you have a period you are not pregnant, its just because the dates are close. thanks

Taking a pregnancy test the day after you have sex isn't going to work. The egg may not be fertilized even up to a few days after, depending on when you ovulate. The pregnancy hormones build up in your system, but they are only detectable by a test after you miss a period, simply because they aren't strong enough yet.

You have the take the test after you miss your period. Taking one after a period is pointless: having a period is like an automatic negative pregnancy test.

Since you had a period after you had sex with the "other boy" and didn't have sex with him after that, then you are not pregnant from that relationship. It doesn't matter if the dates are close. Don't feel stupid either. Sometimes when you are pregnant and stressed out, it fogs your mind. It's completely understandable.

Your baby is your current partners. I wish you all the best with your pregnancy.
