Positive Pregnancy Test after Medical Abortion Posted: 05-03-08 09:07am
I went for my medical abortion on April
23. I did everything as instructed and
passed large clots. I just stopped
completely bleeding yesterday. I took a
pregnancy test this morning and it still
said pregnant. I have read on numerous
websites that the pregnancy hormone stays
in your system for a while, and I'm
guessing this is probably the case but
still it is nerve wracking. Also, I am
still very nauseated almost everyday which
adds to the worrying. Yes, I do
understand the importance of my follow up
and will be attending it on May 6fh. I
guess the only thing that worries me is
the fact I had a previous medical abortion
last year and the pregnancy test after
came back negative after only one week.

USUALLY the test does not come back neg
for 3 weeks, so maybe you just got a less
sensitive test last time.
It is normal.
ALTHOUGH medical abortion is not as good
as surgical, because surgical takes
everything away 'right then'. Medical
abortion does fail more often than
surgical abortion.
