i am a 23 year old female. about a year
1/2 ago i had been exercising and a few
hours later was sitting on my couch doing
homework and all of a sudden my vision
turned upside down, and the room started
spinning. i went numb and tingly on left
side of my body from head to toe
basically. then i got a massive headache
and became very very tired, and fell
asleep for about 5 hours. when i awoke
things were still very dizzy, and i felt
naseauted. the lasting effect was weakness
and tiredness for many months until about
3 months later the same thing happened,
only my arms and legs were so weak i felt
like i could not move. i did not see a
doctor during this whole time period
because i have never really had any health
problems, and so i just passed it off as
stress. the lasting effect from that
"attack" i guess you could call it was
sleep paralysis and hallucinations for
many nights in a row (which after a sleep
study surprisingly RULED OUT narcolepsy).
so i went on again for many months until
one day walking around at the zoo i all of
a sudden became extremely weak and my
knees started to buckle and i thought i
was going to faint. the lasting effects
from all of these attacks was just very
tired and weak, and i started tripping and
running into things. i also noticed that i
felt fumbly and clutsy, which is odd for
me because i have always been physically
fit and was even on a dance squad for
years. then i started having mild fevers
with these attacks. most doctors
attributed it to stress or mental illness
and gave me anti-depressants because most
labs were normal, which still did not
prevent the attacks. i ended up being
diagnosed with POTS (postural orthostatic
tachycardia syndrome... which is an
orthostatic intolerance) by tilt table
testing. however the pots only is
noticable to me during these attacks. in
the past 3 months it seems like every few
weeks or so some new symptom pops up that
sticks around for about a week and then
disappears. it started with difficulty
swallowing, which lasted about a week
after i exercised one night. then i
started getting tingling and numbness in
my trunk, arms, and feet, blurry vision
(so bad could hardly read a book) sharp
headaches that only lasted a couple
seconds but would come multiple times a
day for weeks, shooting forearm and jaw
pains, constant nasuea, ear ringing for
about a week straight, tons of muscle
twitches (mostly in legs, hands, toes,
trunk and eyes), sore legs and arms that
feel as if they weigh 200 tons, and now
most recently difficulty getting urine to
pass (which i thought was a UTI, but U/A
was normal), and everytime i touch the
left side of my face it starts to tingle
for about 5 minutes. i cant even lay on
that side of my face because of the
constant tingle. whats weird about all of
these things is that although many are
combined together during these attacks,
they only last between a couple days to 2
weeks, and once they are gone i am fine.
it seems like every system or part of my
body has been affected at one point or
another. also during these attacks i get
very disoriented and confused and cant
seem to think straight. i did have a tick
bite about 2 years ago, so i asked for a
lymes test but it was negative. the only
neurological tests i have had are the tilt
table and a MRI of the brain. tilt table
showed OI, MRI of brain was normal. the
only medications i take are allegra for
allergies and prevacid for acid reflux. i
also had a endoscopy and colonoscopy for
the nasuea and it showed gastritis with
hyperemic conjestion? i would really like
an opinion. thanks.
You can't have multiple sclerosis because
attacks of MS lasts for several weeks and
remission is not 100% complete. With every
new attack condition becomes worse. Thats
why the disease is progressive. If you had
MS the MRI-scan would show the lesions in
the brain.
I believe that you could be experiencing
panic disorder. Have you ever asked for
help from some mental health
professional?

puncture normal, Evoke Potential normal.
CAn I still have MS
To "anetamiska":
With all those negative tests I believe
that you don't have multiple sclerosis.
Your symptoms can be due to some other
conditions, too.
