Possible TMJ?

Hi everyone

I've been suffering from dizziness for about a month now. It all started after I got back from a surf trip to Puerto Rico. Nothing happened on the trip (no falls, accidents, anything), however I did develop a head cold a day before I left. Symptoms of the cold subsided during the trip, but when I got back I felt a weird unreality sensation, and felt sort of dizzy. The cold came back and I was given antibiotics for a sinus infection (which I am prone to).

Anyway, sinus symptoms have cleared up, yet I still have this persistent dizziness and "off" feeling. I don't feel like the room is spinning. It's worse when I'm up moving around, turning my head. It's actually at its worst when i'm in a store looking around at the things on the shelves.

The thing is, I have noticed that my neck and shoulders, particularly the back of my neck, feels tight. I keep moving my head around because it feels like I need to crack my neck or something.

I noticed the other night that I woke up and I had really been clenching my teeth. I've done this on and off for a while, but it never really caused anything major. I do notice that when I wake up my shoulder/neck area feels super tight and crumpled. I often have to massage my shoulders when I wake up.

My bite is kind of messed up. The left side of my bite does not touch right now and it's almost uncomfortable to close my mouth with my teeth touching.

I don't really have any pain in my face or jaw, although sometimes my jaw feels ever so slightly tired. I just have been having minor headaches, and pain if I turn my head too fast.

it could be tmj----i almost hesitate to say that it is cause it could just be the effects of the cold. Id get into a tmj specialist and tell them that you are worried that you may have it and want to be sure. something slite can cause problems--can be temporary and sometiems not. in your situation i think gettin in now would be in your best interest as the sooner you catch it the better

dont crack anything. this can cause problems.

ice that jaw and if you feel any pain take some ibuprophen or aleve. if you need anything let me know
