Postural Hypotension and throbbing sensations Posted: 03-08-08 08:00am
For the past several months have been
feeling a throbbing sensation in my head
when standing up from a sitting position
(more so at job). It also happens when I
bend down (while doing exercise). Told
doctor and he asked if I was drinking
enough water (which I am). What is
causing this problem?

A throbbing sensation in the head after
standing up could be due to so called
postural hypotension. Postural hypotension
is a functional disorder where
neuro-vascular reflexes that control the
blood pressure do not function properly.
You may want to avoid standing up
suddenly.
