I am 40 weeks pregnant my due date was the
3rd of march i am getting thick white
discharge is that any sign of labour or
the 'show' I am not having any
contractions at present.

In most of the women there are some
predictive signs that delivery will happen
soon. Sometimes those signs can be
expressed very little so woman may not
notice them. Such signs are:
1. relief under the ribcage;
2. Serous-mucous vaginal discharge –
(you probably have this!);
3. Increased rate of pregnancy
contractions also called Braxton-Hicks
contractions. When contractions become
more regular and more often (on every 5
min) the first stage of delivery (cervical
canal enlarging) begins.
You should visit an obstetrician because
you have overcome the due date. You can
request hystero-salpingo-graphy (HSG) to
see if there are uterine contractions. You
can also request vaginal examination to
see how much the cervix is open.
