hi i am eighteen and was put on the pill
by my doctor for irregular periods about a
year ago. the last time i had sex was the
first of january this year. since then i
have had pill periods, but since coming
off the pill this month, my period is over
a week late. i have a lot of bloating and
seem to need the loo more. we used a
condom and i was on the pill when i had
sex but im still incredibley worried that
i could be pregnant and that it would be
too late to get an abortion i know i
should take a test but im too nervous too,
having gotten my period and having used
alot of protection, is there a chance i
could be pregnant, or is it more likely my
period is late becuase i have come off the
pill.
thankyou very much

If you had periods after that sexual
intercourse you can’t be pregnant. You
can take a pregnancy test to assure
yourself. Your missing period and period
irregularities are not due to pregnancy
but probably a result of not having
ovulations. Birth control pills can
achieve regular cycles/period but without
ovulations. It is believed that after
going off the pills ovulations and regular
cycles will be established spontaneously.
The presence of ovulation (egg-cell
expelling) itself usually provides regular
cycles.
