rainstorm, its kind of a waste to say that, because know matter how many times young teens are encouraged to wait to have sex, be it till their older, married whatever, they are still going to do it know matter what anyone else says. I mean if young teens can go against what their parents wishes are, for them to not even have sex till their married, why would they choose differently now?
If they do choose to wait longer, great..but i dont think the chances of that would be very high or likely. If they are, good on them.

If this girl does in fact want to still be with Anthony, then hopefully she would respect his wishes, wait to have sex till they or he thinks he is ready again. And take it on time, otherwise if she cant be committed like this, she will do what she wants with someone else. OR this whole roller coaster will start again.

Know matter how big someone makes the situation [ex:possibly pregnancy, if she takes bc on time, corretly etc.] those questions get shoved aside majority of the time and the only thing that is on the mind is sex.

I have more faith in children, I guess. I don't think they are all animals with no self-control, especially after they've had a close call/scare like the one the original poster an his gf just had. Not all young teens are having sex.

Most teens think more other teens ae having sex than really are having sex:

"In a study presented at a meeting of the American Public Health Association ?(APHA),
They found evidence that teens who have intercourse tend to think their friends are too, even if they're not. "You're 2.5 times more likely to have sex by the 9th grade if you think your friends are having sex -- whether or not they really are," says Katharine Atwood, assistant professor at the Kentucky School of Public Health. Plus, teens tended to overestimate how many of their friends were sexually active. Only 33 percent of kids in the study had had sex by the 9th grade, but 31 percent said that most or all of their friends had had sex. "If you can persuade them that fewer are having sex than they think," she says, "that can have a significant impact on their behavior."

lol kids these days have changed over the years.
Their dressing more provocatively, having sex earlier, doing drugs way more that before too.
Those studies are outdated.
Its great to have faith in them, but reality is, times have changed, respect for parents have gone right out the window, and how the kids are controlling the parents and doing what they want to do.
"If you can persuade them that fewer are having sex than they think," ... "that can have a significant impact on their behavior."
teens are gonna do what they want regardless of what others are doing. There is no persuading when their around their friends for majority of the day and weeks at school.
Those srudies have changed.
NOW kids are having sex earlier at grade 8, and the nmber of kids doing this goes up as well when they reach highschool. I think [not 100% sure have to ask my fiance] they also said that only a small handfull are not having sex. But majority of them are indeed having sex and doing other things too.

Even if studies show that kids really aren't having that much sex it doesn't mean that they aren't doing other dangerous sexual things. I knew a lot of people in high school who were virgins but got on their knees for every guy who wanted it.

sometimes a switch goes off [hypathetically speaking]
and all of a sudden they [girls & boys] are doing things they have never done before, or told themselves they would never do or let happen.

I'm not sure I would call them "virgins", then. So why do girls do this? Are they also getting oral sex from the guys?

When do you think these studies were done?

Ask him what?

Who is "they"? Please clarify this last part of your post.

Btw, it is very common for teens like you to think more other teens are having sex than really are having sex. Did you see that in my post?

Here is a RECENT study:

Facts on American Teens' Sexual and Reproductive Health

09/2006
SEXUAL ACTIVITY
•Nearly half (46%) of all 15-19-year-olds in the United States have had sex at least once.[1]
By age 15, only 13% of teens have ever had sex. However, by the time they reach age 19, seven in 10 teens have engaged in sexual intercourse.[2]
•Most young people have sex for the first time at about age 17, but do not marry until their middle or late 20s. This means that young adults are at risk of unwanted pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) for nearly a decade.[3]
•Teens are waiting longer to have sex than they did in the past.

see that study was done 2and a half years ago.
We're in 2008.
A group, i can't remember who, did a study on how many teens are having sex.
This group, found that more kids are having sex in grade 8. and The numbers go up when they hit high school.
Only a few teens are not having sex and would rather wait.
But the rest, are engaging in sex and other things.
Its not common for other teens to think their friends are having sex, they talk about it at school, I hear kids in my high school talk about it all the time, you cant pursuade them to think their friends arent doing it when their around them majority of the week at school.

Kystine......a 2006 study would actually be considered recent. You have to understand the enormous amount of time, people, research, and refining that goes into an thorough study that covers such a broad spectrum of people. I took Political Inquiry and Research Developement courses in college and even for a small study of say 10-15 people, we would easily spend 6-8 months. It's not like they just set up a poll and let people vote.....no no no its much more scientific than that.
