My husband and I had intercourse the day
before I ovulated, immediately following
(the next day), I was nauseated and
experienced a sudden temperature rise
(ovulating?). I have had abdominal
cramping and mild pelvic cramping since,
and the last few days have been nauseated
most of the day. My breasts aren't tender,
but definitely feel "different". I haven't
noticed my areolas darkening, but did
notice my nipples were darker around the
edges. My period is regular and is due in
6 days. Is this all in my head? Could I be
pregnant? I usually have cramping a week
before my period, but so far no "PMS"
cramping. Please Help!!!

You wouldn't get pregnancy symptoms a day
after sex. The sperm wouldn't have even
had time to reach the egg yet, let alone
have the egg fertilized, travel down your
tubes and implant in your uterus.
It takes a few weeks for the pregnancy
hormone to build to the point where you'd
be experiencing symptoms. The first
symptom is usually a missed period, and
the other symptoms follow a few weeks
after, if at all. Not all women experience
symptoms.

I agree it is way to early to experience
symptoms. But some women swear they know
as soon as they get pregnant? But, I
didn't experience any symptoms untill the
week my period was suppose to arrive. I
was on birth control and didn't get my
period during my off week. I got neausea
the friday before I was suppose to start a
new pack. But I associated it with nerves
because I hadn't started yet, and the only
other symptoms was sore breasts (which is
common for many reasons). On Sunday I
decided to take a test to be on the safe
side before I started my pills and it was
positive. My symptoms started to really
show up when I was 6 weeks or so. Good
Luck hun, I hope I could help a little. I
hope your situation works out the way you
want.

Yes, some women "know" as soon as they get
pregnant. But a lot of women "know" when
they're not pregnant, too. I suspected I
was pregnant probably five times after the
birth of my daughter, to the point where I
went out and bought pregnancy tests fully
expecting them to be positive. Take a look
around at all the recent posts - where
women just "know" they're pregnant, and a
few days later their periods start.
