can your test pregnancy test be positive if you may have had a miscarriage?

Not an expert on this but since it measures an increase in hCG, I would think if the miscarriage was very recent, you could have a false positive. If you believe it is a false positive, you may want to wait a few days then try again or better yet, make an appt. with an OB and get an exam to find out exactly what IS going on. This is one case where knowledge is power.
