Should i be concerned that im measuring 4 weeks ahead of my due date? I went to the doctors yesterday and they scheduled me another ultrasound because of my measurements but that wont be in 2 more wks. The last month or so i have been measuring 2 weeks ahead but for some reason its now 4 weeks. Anyone else have this problem when they were pregnant? If so, what happens next if the baby is bigger than what she is soppose to be? Im a lil worried, any advice or comments will help. Thanks

is the measurements from what they weigh you at and measure you around?
you may have just put on some extra weight while pregnant to have you measured at 4 weeks ahead if that is the case..but i might be wrong all together.
if your worried, call your doctor and tell him why your worried, and ask to get an ultrasound sooner if possible.

Zachary was measuring ahead of time the whooooollle time. He still ended up being 2 weeks late (carried to 42 weeks and was still induced at 42 weeks) but he just ended up being huge!

I think I heard somewhere that when you measure big, you could have the gestational diabetes. You should be tested for that soon, if you haven't already. I don't know though, I'm just guessing.

Measuring big for dates can be a lot of things and absolutely nothing at all. Is this your first baby?

Yes, this is my first baby. I had the glucose test done already and it came back negative for diabetes so thats why the midwife is concerned now.

your weight has nothing to do with how your uterus measures.

to the op- i wouldn't worry about it. the measuring isn't exactly precise since they're just using a tape measure and going by centimeters, they could easily be off a couple centimeters. also, the position of the baby or the amount of fluid could affect it. or you could just be having a big baby. i wouldn't be too concerned, plus you get another u/s!

I also started measureing ahead, when i was about 7 months or so.. exactly 4 weeks like you... I did end up having my son early but it was by emergency c-section, he had an irregular hearbeat and still weighed 6'6 19 inches long.. he was a month early..if it wasnt for the c-section i believe i would have went to term...They also checked me by ultrasound.. everything was fine.. could be the baby has just moved in a certain way thats making it read differently... everything will be fine!

mother of a 4 yr old and a 11 month old girl and boy.
