Prolonged migraines
Posted: 07-06-08 20:05pm

I%u2019ve been experiencing the same constant migraine for...oh, i think i'm on month 10 now...it started Sept 07. I've been to GPs, neurologists, Headache Specialists, acupuncturists, massage Therapists%u2019, tried countless medications with little to no relief.

I%u2019m only 28 years old. I just had a little girl April 25, 2007. It feels like I%u2019m missing all of the good bits of her life. I know this isn%u2019t something I can help....I just feel like I%u2019m doing her an injustice.

I%u2019m on Topomax, Zomig and Oxycodine now...it%u2019s gotten me to a point that I can go outside again, but now that I%u2019m off Mat leave, the Migraines are getting really bad again. I%u2019ve tried Botox with no luck and unfortunately I didn%u2019t have any wrinkles to get rid of either.

Anyone else gone or going through this?

I hope this doesn't seem like I'm trivializing your problems, you sound miserable. Have you looked into a nutritionist? Making sure you are getting good nutrition?

Unfortunatly, i have tried that. I'm working very closely with her and with great sucess in the weight loss department....but not in the headache department.

But we did cut out all of the Headache triggers....aged cheese, cured meats, fish, alcohol, and a few others. I even cut out pop....but that was more due to Topomax. It changed the taste, which was better anyway.

This may be a long shot, but how are you feeling emotionally? Any chance of postpartum depression or some other thing?

That would be nice and i did have a problem with depression in the beginning, But only when my daughter was in the hospital....she was 6 weeks premature, so she had to stay in for 3 weeks. The day she came out was the best day of my life....until now.

Ok, I was just wondering because I know sometimes headaches can be a sign of depression. (I figured I'd go for the things doctors usually look over!!)

A Chiropracter, maybe... I know sometimes bad alignment can cause headaches.

Sorry, I'm really just grasping for anything here, but if it's something that works, then it's worth it!

Yeah, migraines run in my family too and I used to get them really bad. Luckily, imitrix knocked them out for me. I really hope you find the answers you are seeking!

I know that hormonal changes, such as puberty, pregnancy, or menopause can cause changes in migraine patterns. But that doesn't really help you...

Best of luck pray
