Protected sex, bleeding, mixed test results Posted: 06-03-08 20:37pm
I am so confused! I have been married
for 2 years and I went off the ring back
in August because it made me crazy. We're
not really "trying" for kids right now..
we're using condoms and aren't very
active. The last time we had sex
(protected) was mid April.. say April
16th.
Last Tuesday, May 27, I was very sick. I
was vomiting every hour or so for 15 hours
until my doctor finally prescribed some
anti-nausea medicine. I couldn't even
keep down water! I felt sick all day
Tuesday and Wednesday and still had some
nausea on Thursday. On Tuesday, I took a
pregnancy test which was positive.
On Wednesday, I took another test at home,
which read "error." So I took another,
which was negative. At that point, I was
really confused so I went to a free
testing clinic who did two more urine
tests. Both negative.
On Thursday night, I started my period
which lasted until yesterday with bleeding
which was heavier than normal for me with
terrible cramping.
Now, for the last several days I have been
having terrible gas! I also feel like I
have been peeing a lot.
Did I have a "chemical" pregnancy? Or am
I pregnant now? I am so confused!
You are probably not pregnant now because
you started a period and 3 pregnancy tests
were negative.
When was your previous menstruation (that
one before the last one on 29th May)?

I am not 100% sure because I am really
irregular, but I think like the middle of
April.
If your period before the last one was in
the middle of April and your last sexual
intercourse (protected) was around that
time, chances for conceiving are very
small almost none.
Even if you had early ("chemical")
pregnancy you needed blood pregnancy tests
to confirm it not some simple home (urine)
pregnancy tests.

It doesnt sound like you are pregnant. But
since you are still having symptoms I
would see a doctor and request a blood
test. Urine tests can be wrong.

I had 2 negative tests before I tested
positive at 5 weeks pregnant.

there is a girl in my town who tested
negative on all of her urine tests until
she was 6 months along when they confirmed
that she was pregnant via ultrasound. i
guess she got the depo shot right after
she got pregnant (because she didnt know)
and it messed with her hormones. perhaps
you have a cyst or something on your
reproductive organs?.. if your feeling
funny, continue seeing a doctor, your body
it trying to tell you something.

The depo shot would not cause pregnancy
tests to be negative.
