Prozac side effects Posted: 04-17-08 21:24pm
My doctor put me on Prozac (well the $4
generic stuff at Wal-Mart) like 3 months
ago, and for the past like month I have
been "flushing" REALLY bad... like I get
so hot I feel like my skin is boiling and
sometimes it's even hard to breathe. And
then here more recently (probably within
the last week or so) I have noticed that
my hair is falling out. I mean, I can just
rack my hand through it to get it out of
my face, and a hand full will come out!!!!
ARRGH!!!
Could these be side effects of the Prozac?
If they are, I thought side effects were a
"you get them when you first start the
drug, but then they wear off" deal? Why
are they coming on later?

I would definitely check that out with
your prescribing doctor. You will want to
make sure it's not doing bad things to
your blood pressure or anything (which
sounds like flushing/feeling hot).
Yikes!!
Some side effects wear off, but you will
want to make sure you aren't endangering
yourself now. Definitely ask your doctor.

Don't worry, I guess Prozac just isn't the
right medication for you.
I had the exact same problem but even
worse. The weather here in Canada was
pretty cold recently while i've been
taking Prozac. Ever since it got hot I
felt weird off Prozac. I felt extremely
hot and it felt hard to breathe as well,
it felt like I was controlling my
breathing manually at times.
Not to mention, I felt really restless as
well, I couldn't sit still or lay down
during the day and had to constantly be
doing something.
Just let your doctor know that you feel
this way and you can try a different
medication.
