hey all...

So I am a moderator on the pregnancy boards... but about 2 months ago I went and got a massage... a few days later my eyes broke out like crazy... I honestly contacted the palor thinking it was bad detergent or an allergybreak out... nope... I have psoriasis... it sucks... I know it sounds vain... but I dont want to have a scared up/red face! I only know one other person who has it and she is a friend of my moms but she is covvvered in it head to toe...

I got this ointment cream Made by Eucerin... its the consistancy of Cristco.. but yeah I can already tell a rapid change in my eyes... and now I have to be super careful what I put on my face alot of normal non scented skin repair lotions just BURNNNN my face...

Any other ideas... I know it is not curable... but I still have it very minimal (I think its developing onn my head... right above my forhead has been sooooooo itchy lately.. just like my eyes) I try my best not to itch... The Eucerin stuff is fantastic for sleeping!!!

I would like to help prevent its spread!

Thanks so much!

Hello

My girlfriend has had it for 16 years and believe me she has tried most ointments and potions. Whenever she cuts herself, the healing wound turns into a patch of psoriasis - so much so that you can set your watch by it the moment you see the first sign of blood! She has tried many many expensive creams with little or no effect. Then one day, a fellow sufferer she met through work said to try Clovate Cream. She wasn't even going to bother trying it, until I said to her that I had some given to me by a dermatologist for something totally different I suffered from.

Now I know you should NEVER give somebody else your prescription drugs/creams, and mine was 2 years out of date as it was!!, but she used it "sparingly" and I mean sparingly on just one of her hands (her hands, elbows, knees are worst) twice a day for 7 days (her friend said 4 days should show progress). The idea of treating just one hand was that we could see if progress was being made. And by heck, the redness and flaking disappeared (leaving a faint pattern but hey, she wasn't complaining !!!

We can get clovate crema, as it is known here in Spain, over the counter without prescription but I am not sure about putting it on the face as it is a steroid cream I think. But worth talking to a Dr about at least.

By the way, her "near perfect hand" lasted for 4 weeks but it is coming back as it is air-con time of year here now and that plays havoc with psoriasis for my girlfriend (along with chlorinated swimming pools and washing up which I have to do all of)!.

Hope that helps ;¬P

I have psoriasis from head to toe and my mom does too. Mine is mostly not noticeable now b/c I use Skin Cap. You can buy it on the internet. I also use psoriasis shampoo that I buy at Wal-Mart (Dermarest) and that seems to help also.
