rash and hives with cramps Posted: 05-17-08 17:02pm
I have had this condition for over 10
years and it progressivley gets worse. It
starts as a heat rash over my
neck, arms, trunk, and upper thighs. I can
get this while sitting,standing, walking
short distances,
heat,humidity,cold,pressure,being excited,
nervous, or stress. It is not brought on
by any type of food. I do not have asthma
symptoms. If I begin to notice the rash, I
must sit down or remove myself from the
environment causing it. If I can not, I
begin to get hives in the same areas as
the rash. My eyes, lips, ears, and throat
begin to swell. Recently, after the birth
of my son (by C-section), I have been
getting severe cramps in my lower abdomen
after the swelling has gone down on my
face and throat. It is so severe I cannot
stand, or sit. I get nausiated from the
pain. I can only describe it as a very
strong pressure. It feels like my insides
are about to come out..to put it bluntly.
Currently, I am on Allegra 180 bid,
Singular, epi-pen as needed, hydroxadine
to take as the symptoms occur. I am 27 and
have gained over 100lbs over the years
because my activity is limited. I need
some answers so I can live a normal
life..Please HELP.

Have you informed you doctor for abdominal
and pelvic cramps you are experiencing?
This can be a side effect of your
C-section, forming surgical adhesions that
can lead to pain, discomfort, and can
sometimes interfere with subsequent
births.
Abdominal adhesions are especially common
after cesarean sections (form as a natural
response to trauma that your body has
undergone; they are scar tissue that
connects organs together, causing them to
stick to one another, resulting in pain
because they limit the movement of
internal organs)
Do you often feel nauseous and want to
vomit?
Have you noticed some changes of your
bowel movements?
Do you get hives every day for ten years?

I am currently under care of a
Immunologist and Endocrinologist. I have
told them about this and they said "Your
body goes through many changes during
pregnancy, but nothing else. I didnt
question it further because at the time of
my appointment, I felt there were more
critical things to discuss. I feel
nausiated from the pain of the cramps, but
otherwise..no. Some changes in the
frequency of my bowel movements but
nothing rare for me. I dont get hives
every day. I know my limit most of the
time. If I can sit or cool off once I get
the heat rash, the hives dont develop. I
am an active person in a body that doesnt
allow activity. The only other changes
that have developed since my pregnancy is
a high prolactin level. I have had an MRI
to rule out a tumor on the pituitary
gland. It was negative.
Is there anything for me to do about the
abdominal adhesions? Over time, will my
body remedy the problem itself? Thank you
again for your advice and questions.

You are welcome!
You should talk this with your health
provider.
Cesarean section adhesions can be treated
in order to reduce pain or restore
fertility by removing and separating
adhesions through a surgical procedure.
These procedures are highly successful,
and generally help 60% of all patients.
However, surgical adhesions can form
again, and do so in about 70% of cases.
Bowel obstruction can, also, result from
surgical adhesions. Scar tissue forms over
the small intestine, causing a blockage in
your bowel. As a result, your bowel cannot
excrete any waste, causing side effects
like nausea, vomiting, and pain. Bowel
obstruction can occur immediately after
surgery or it can develop years later.
How does the rash look like?
Do you get itchy feeling, too?
