bleeding in rectal area

I recently was on antibiotics for a sinus infection. While on antibiotics, I developed a red rash around my anus and when I wipe, I notice streaks of blood. Sometimes it is itchy and sometimes it is painful. Any help with this is appreciated. Thanks

This sounds like a yeast infection. Call the doctor and see if they will give you a prescription for nystatin ointment. Apply to the area. It should offer immediate relief from the burning and itching. Go to the natural food store and get probiotics to replace the normal bacteria that is in the colon and digestive tract. Antibiotics will deplete them and the yeast has an opportunity to overgrow. Take the probiotics 3x/day for awhile. It takes a bit for the normal flora to become reestablished in the colon. That should fix the problem.

I agree, it's a yeast infection. You can also eat yogurt and the acidophilus in that will help too.
