I started a new job recently which
involves working with hydraulic oil on a
day to day basis, the first week was
fine.
A few days into the second week i was
asked to clean out a pit of dirty oil with
god knows what in it. I got oil onto my
overalls which wernt waterproof so the oil
soaked through and must have got onto my
legs and arms, places i had lent on or
kneeled down. I did have gloves on but
they wernt tight fitting so the oil could
have got down them
When i was leaving work that day my knees
started itching, only slightly nothing
much to complain about, over the last few
days the rash and itching is getting
worse, my hands today were very bad. and
there were bumpy red patches with some
very small blisters.
What i would like to know is will this
clear up by itself if i make sure oil
doesnt come into contact with my skin, i
dont think i will have to do the same
thing as mentioned above again and will
continue to make sure oil doesnt come into
contact with my skin
i read somewhere that if its contact
dermititus it will last around 7 days and
be at its worst after 4 days, which sounds
about right.
