Recovery from self injury

I just want to let you all know that there is possibility of recovery.

I dont get the urge to hurt myself as often, or I try to find different ways to handle it. Of course there are times when it gets the better of me, but I'd like to think I'm doing well =]

Have a post if you feel the same or wanna chat about strategies to stop!

What have you done that helps you not cut? I just see the scars and feel ashamed, but the urge to do it is still there. Is there a better method than shame to keep yourself from cutting?

I just wanted to say... congrats LadyLoop!!! (hugs) Recovery is no easy thing. I find that sometimes if I hold/squeeze an ice cube when I get to urge to cut it helps me... still hurts like **** but it is a lot less messy (not to mention less dangerous)

Or I wear a rubber (or elastic) band around my wrist and SNAP it.

I just wrote that in another post! Very
Happy I do the exact same thing with a rubber band on my wrist. I don't squeeze ice cubes, but I do chew on them to take my mind off of cutting.
