Red on glans
Posted: 05-12-08 15:25pm

Hello,

I was circumsized 6 years ago when I was 10. I think about a year ago a red spot appeared on it. I thought it was just a little blood clot/ burst tiny vein or something like that, and it would go away. But it has only grown bigger since. The edge of my glans, especially on the upper side, are red too and there are some tiny red veins on the sides of the glans. I have looked everywhere on the internet but can't find anything about it.

What might this be? I'm worried that it might not go away or even get worse or that it's something dangerous.

Would really appreciate any comments.

When you get circumcized, especially when it's later on in life (IE: not infancy), the exposed glans goes through a lot of changes because of the friction/elements it experiences outside of the foreskin. This red spot you're encountering could just be a reaction to the lack of foreskin, especially since you've had it since you were circumcised. Is it painful/uncomfortable? If it is, see a doctor. If it bothers you and you think you should have it looked at, then I would advise going to see a doctor for sure!

It's not painful or anything. It feels normal, to me... That's why I never paid much attention to it and thought it would go away but I don't know... it just doesn't look very healthy.

I think it looks like psoriasis, but also a bit like lichen sclerosus.

So I think it would be good to see a docter, even though im embarressed...
