Red Spot on breast with itching Posted: 05-30-08 20:24pm
Hi,
I am a 29 year old female. About a month
ago, my left breast started to itch, at
first it was just slightly. Then about a
week after the itching started i noticed a
red spot under the skin, (not a perfect
circle) the spot is on the oppsite side of
the breast from where the itching is
accruing. i was visiting my mother in
denver and because my grandma just died of
IBC i made an appointment to see a doctor.
they suggested that i have a mamo but
didnt seem to concerned with it. i ended
up coming back home before i could get the
mamo done. now its been about a month
sense the first symptom. my left breast
itches so bad i could cry. i also noticed
another little red spot coming up like the
first one but smaller on the opposite side
of the breast from the first one. and my
nipple seems to be going flat. it doesnt
respond to stimulation unless lying flat
on my back. Today as i was doing a breast
exam i noticed a small hard spot deep in
the breast close to the first red mark.
but it is only felt when doing the exam
standing with my arm raised over my head.
i dont know if i am just thinking i feel
one because i am scared for if i really do
have one. And when i woke up this morning
my right arm was sowellen and tender, no
relief with ice or heat ( dont know if
it's connected.) Anyway. i have a dr appt
on the 13th of June but i live in a city
that is well known for lousy medical care.
Has anyone been here??? Or know someone
who has?? Any suggestions or help in what
might be going on would be GREAT!!

Do you find your left breast swollen?
Are the red spots with texture similar to
the skin of an orange?
Is the breast warm on touch?
Do you feel some kind of breast pain?

yes the breast is bigger than the other. i
am a big breasted women anyway but the one
falls out of the bra when i where it.
there is little holes all over the skin
kinda like someone picked me with a needle
and left the indentation. it is not warm
to tuch all the time. sometimes it is but
most of the time no. there is no
gerneralized breast pain rather coming and
going. somtimes is feels like as if
someone tossed out a fishing line and
hooked the inside of my nipple and is
tryig to reel it in but that comes and
goes. the right one too now is more red
(not spot) than the left and has those
little dimple things all over it too. I
dont know whats going on. cant wait to see
the dr. but again our city is known for
lousy medical care so i dont know if thsi
is somthing i should continue to push to
find out whats really going on or if i am
over reacting

You have some symptoms similar to IBC.
IBC sometimes is confused with mastitis,
breast infection.
You'll need to visit a doctor and check
the red spot with biopsy.
If there are changes due to IBC, they
won't show on mammogram or ultrasound.
I don't wanna give you extra worry, but,
it's better this to be checked.
This cancer is know for its aggressiveness
and causing changes in very short time
period.
