Rib Pain/ Shortness of Breath... Any Ideas?
Posted: 03-25-06 00:51am

Hi, just wanted to post some symptoms i've been having because I can't get in to see a doc. For a while and it's pretty bothersome.

Sometimes I have gotten sharp pains or just pain under my left rib in the past but it has been about a week now where the pain has progressed and now it's constant.
Yesterday and today I have bad shortness of breath.
I can breathe a little bit better when I stand rather than lying down or sitting.
I have scoliosis and the "hurting" rib is twisted from it don't know if this has anything to do with it.
Today I woke up with a cough. It hurts of coarse to cough but its sort of a productive cough and isn't really bothersome.

Also probaly unrelated... Usually I get my period on about the 8th, last month I got it on the 1st and now I have like pink bleeding since yesterday.
I get very frequent bladder infections and I think the pink is coming from both areas. Also constipated often but accompanied with diarrhea..(eew)
i havent done anything out of the ordinary.
Thank you very much for your time any ideas would be very appreciated I am very uncomfortable! I want to breathe!!

Your productive cough is probably due to some respiratory infection but can't say precisely which without physical examination. Shest/rib pain could be related to some respiratory infection bud that is less possible in your case because you had had chest/rib pain before coughing started. Chest/rib pain can be also due to the scoliosis. Do you still have the same pain?
Bladder infections are more common in women and their unproper treatment can cause chronic bladder infection.
