I recently started having what I believe
to be seizures at night. They always
happen while I'm lying down in bed but
before I actually fall asleep. Either that
or they happen after I wake up in the
middle of the night. They start with a low
pitch humming sound that I think is in my
head that gradually gets louder and louder
and a strong tingling sensation over my
whole body. I then go limp and cannot move
my arms or legs. I can't speak when I try
to call out for help. My eyes are open the
whole time it happens. Sometimes I see
flashes of light, and one time I
experienced a very unwarrented feeling of
extreme anger during this episode, but the
rest of the time I haven't experienced any
strange emotions. It usually lasts for a
good minute or so, and then I snap out of
it and am able to move. The
tingling/vibrating sensation stays with me
for a few minutes after I am able to move
again.
I'm 20 yrs old and I live with my parents.
I haven't seen a doctor because the first
few times this happened my parents
dismissed it as "she was probably
dreaming." It's happened 6 times in 2
months now, and I am completely sure I am
awake every time it has happened
Everything I've read on my own says that
usually when nocturnal seizures happen,
you don't remember anything. But I'm
concious the whole time and remember
everything. Has this happened to anyone
else??
