Severe anxiety agoraphobia Posted: 03-16-08 22:50pm
THE BEGINNING
I was given Effexor about two 1/2 yrs ago
for PPD. After a yr, with my drs help, I
tapered off the meds over a six month
period. Immediately I got a stuffy
feeling in my head that has never went
away. Within a couple of months, I had my
first panic attack, after receiveing some
scary news that I would be moving. Since
then my life has been a whirlwind of
changes, bringing on severe anxiety and
agoraphobia.
NOW
I aam 27 years old and a mother to two
beutiful babies. I have been unable to
drive for over a year and in the past six
months cannot comfortably enter most
stores, with someone or alone. I was
unable to drive my 3 year old to the ER
after he fell and broke his nose. I had
to call someone an hour away to take up.
I start to panic, thinking Im not really
there. That I am dreaming. I have
started the Attacking Anxiety program last
week and have notice a little confidence,
but I still have a problem. Over the past
year my eyes have gotten blurrier and
blurrier, and more like bad tv reception.
Also feels like one is a thousand times
worse than the other. But my vison test
was perfect, no other problems, CAT scan
normal.....Every doctor is stumped. And
let me clarify one thing....the blurriness
doesnt go away. It is from the time I
wake up to the time I close my eyes. And I
take eye drops. Lubricants and steriods
because they dont know what else to do.
Please tell me I am not alone.

No you're not alone!!!
Have you seen a psychologist or
psychiatrist? Often times, they'll do
house calls for your type of anxiety.
Also, if you think the attacking anxiety
program is helping, maybe just wait a
while and let it start to work, and then
re-evaluate your medical problems.
Hope I helped,
Danielle

You are definetely not alone! Sometimes
when we are panicked or have an anxiety
disorder little things seem ten times
bigger than they are. I speak from
personal experience because I suffer from
anxiety and panic attacks and even when I
just get a headache I convince myself it
is a stroke or a brain tumor. It isn't of
course but the thing they say about those
with anxiety is that we are more self
aware than those who are considered to be
normal. So every little thing that changes
in our body is noticeable to us. Just calm
down and keep telling yourself that
everything will be alright and I am here
if you ever need me cause I honestly know
what you are going through.
