severe ongoing panic attacks Posted: 08-18-08 19:55pm
I am a 30 y/o female who has been
suffering from (supposed) panic attacks
for 14 years. I am not overweight and do
not have any other health problems. I
have had my blood work done and it came
back normal. They went away for about 5
years and are now coming back with a
vengeance. They seem to hit for
absolutely no reason during the most
relaxed times. I am also experiencing
major stomach problems and had an upper GI
done about 4 months ago. It showed a
small hiatal hernia, but nothing else. I
do not have a gallbladder (for 6 years
now) and have continuous digestive
problems. I get so scarred and my heart
beats so hard and fast that I almost pass
out. My doctor does not like to give
medication, so it is hard to get a
prescription for Xanax which has worked to
calm me down in the past when taken as
needed. I am always thinking about death
and it seems to get even worse at night
and then I can't sleep well. I am
sometimes jolted awake by my heart racing.
There has been a pain in the middle of my
chest that is radiating to my back on the
left side. Left arm pain and left leg
pain are also a common occurrence. I have
seen a pshycologist and it did nothing for
me. My doctor will not see me anymore and
I feel like I am losing it. Any
suggestions are welcome. Thanks
