severe pain during pregnancy Posted: 07-21-08 11:57am
When I first found out I was 3 weeks
pregnant, I was so excited, but it didn't
last long. The day after, I started having
intestinal cramping, followed by constant
diarrhea, and agonizing pain. It just
continue to happen, for 3 long months. The
pain was worse than the labor pain. It
seemed as if my intestines were being
pulled away from me, in every direction,
twisted around, and there was no way to
make the pain go away. It happened all day
long. I chose to not take any medication,
because I was concerned about the baby. No
doctor was able to figure out what was
wrong, from my ob/gyn to my
gastroenteorolgist. Now my son is 8 months
old, the pain has not returned, and
everthing is fine. But I would like to get
pregnant again. My fear is that the pain
will return during my first trimester. Can
anyone please help me?

I'm really sorry that happened to you, but
there's no saying whether or not it will
happen again. It might have been a one
time only thing such as a real case of the
flu, which is unlike our common "24 hour"
bacterial flus.
It seems that it could not have been
caused by hormones, although some women do
experience diarrhea when they are late
term in the pregnancy. I have found that
they are many foods that I am allergic to
while I am pregnant only and have to
change my diet. Maybe this is true for
you too.
Here is a link that will give you some
hopefully helpful tips on how to change
your lifestyle if you consider having
another little darling.
