Severe skin itching Posted: 09-19-08 05:53am


There is severe itching for past 5 days due to which the patient is not able to sleep. Medications tried for treating this seemingly topical skin allergy are mentioned below, however none of them have worked. Please advise if there's any thing else that can be tried to reduce the itching. At least to an extent that the patient can sleep. The itching started after recovering from a general viral infection (cold and fever) The patient is based in India and is a healthy female, 23years old with no history of any medical complications. All blood tests, Chest X-Ray and Full Abdomen Sonography reports are normal, except the haemoglobin count on lower side. Medications already administered: Avil 25mg (Pheniramine maleate .. i.p. 25mg) OmnaCortil 5mg (Prednisolone .. i.p. 5mg In betadex NF) Allegra 180 (Fexofenadine hydrochloride u.s.p. 180mg) Razo 20 mg (Rabecrazole sodium .. 20mg (enteric coated tablet)) Cetzine (Cetrazine hydrochloride %u2026 h.p. 10mg) Alaspan 10mg Atarax 25mg

With an added dose of b-Complex, the condition has improved a bit, however not to an extent that the patient can sleep. Long way to go. Can anyone suggest any ointment or any other medicine that can eliminate the itching.
