sex 3 1/2 weeks after delivery Posted: 03-04-08 13:03pm
I know this is probably going to sound
rediculous, but I need to hear some
opinions.
My son will be 4 weeks old tomorrow. I
was told no sex for 6 weeks and until
after I came back in for my postnatal
visit, but I have always had a very
healthy sex drive and when it came down to
it, I gave in after telling myself that I
shouldn't for what seemed like hours. So,
about 3 1/2 weeks after delivery I had
unprotected sexual intercorse.
I AM breastfeeding and the post-natal
bleeding stopped a couple days before
(thank god- I was over that!), but I was
lucky enough to not need stitches after
also.
I am 100% sure he is STD free and there
was no pain during intercorse, just some
mild discomfort at first.
I just really need to know if there's
anything I should possibly be worried
about?!

I am pretty sure that 6 weeks is just a
general reccommendation. I think if you
physically feel ready before that and it
is not painful for you, then it's okay. I
think we waited about 4 weeks, but i had
stitches so we had to wait for those to
heal first. And when i went for my 6 week
postnatal visit, everything was fine. I
dont think you have anything to be worried
about....except that you CAN ovulate while
breastfeeding, so you should be using
protection. Take care

Are you ready to have another child? Have
you tested for pregnancy?
