Painful Intercourse and Bartholin's Cyst Posted: 03-01-08 08:27am
i had a history of bartholin's cyst a year
ago, it seems that it came back again in
the same location as before. but back then
the pain was only from the outside usually
when sitting or walking. but now there is
no pain outside but the pain im feeling is
on the inside, im having painful sexual
intercourse which is unbearable that im
asking him to stop. the feeling is as if
he is bumping into something inflammed
inside.
i wonder if it is possible that it is
still the bartholin's cyst that has grown
inside that he is bumping into. i have
also heard of cervix that is being hit
that causes pain. is it possible that i
can have infection with him bumping into
my cervix?
we did try anal sex, and after that, i had
this pain during vaginal sex. does it have
do with it? we are not having sex lately
because of the pain.
we are out of the country that's why i
cant see my gynecologist for medications,
what do i need to do? can i take any
medication? will amoxicillin work?
thanks a lot!

You might be experiencing a recurrence of
a Bartholin's Cyst if the treatment you
received was drainage of the cyst and not
removal. However, it doesn't seem likely
that the pain you experience during
intercourse would be related to
Bartholin's Cysts since you describe the
pain being inside your vagina (and
possibly at the cervix), as these cysts
are located outside of the vagina on the
labia. You may be experiencing an
infection of the cervix, or possibly a
tumor, which would also cause sex to be
painful. A thorough pelvic exam by your
Gynecologist should diagnose this problem.
