Likelihood of Contracting an STD Posted: 03-02-08 09:36am
I am a 45 year old male, been married (and
monogamous) for 22 years. I went to a
strip club with some co-workers, and one
of the dancers put her fingers in her
vagina and then stuck them in my mouth
(her fingers were quite wet). I am now
worried beyond belief. I know I can't get
HIV this way, but am I at risk of any of
the other major STDs? The dancer appeared
to have good hygeine and had no visible
sores, but I just don't know. I know I'm
probably WAY over-paranoid, but I am
terrified that I might bring something
home to my wonderful wife. I'm afraid to
get tested because that would mean my wife
finding out, and I shouldn't have been in
a place like that in the first place. Can
you tell me if it's a rational concern
that I may have been exposed to something
in this fashion?
While it is unlikely you can contract an
STD from sucking the vaginal fluid off of
someone's fingers, it might be possible if
there were open cuts or sores in your
mouth at the time. You may also check
with the Club to see if the dancers are
regularly tested for STD's. Your family
doctor can perform tests that may put your
mind at ease, or determine what course of
treatment is required.
