sharp pain in back of head Posted: 04-17-08 13:35pm
I keep getting really sharp pains in the
back right side of my head that shoots up
into my temporal area. the pain only lasts
for a few seconds but it hurts really bad.
i have been getting them for a couple of
weeks now, and they happened several times
a day. If anyone knows what is happening
please let me know. im afraid of having a
brain annurism but i don't want to over
react. thank you

Does the pain usually originate at the
base of the skull and radiate to the back,
front, and side of the head, as well as
behind the eyes?
Is there any certain spot at the back of
your head that is sensitive to touch?
Do you feel pain or pressure behind the
eyes?
Do you find your eyes sensitive to light,
especially when the headache is present?

yes, the pain does start in the back and
move up through my temple and it does hurt
behind my eye but only the right one.
however it is not sesitive to anything. i
have pressed on it every where and have
done anything i can think of to trigger it
but they just come randomly and go away
just as quickly.

Have you noticed that sometimes neck
movements are triggering this headache?
Do you find physical and emotional tension
as common precipitating factors?
Are you aware of having osteoarthritis or
diabetes?
Have you experienced trauma to the back of
your head?
