Posted: 04-26-08 21:06pm

well.. lately ive been having really bad sharp pains and im 18 weeks pregnant. this is normal right? im so paranoid.
plus i can feel him moving around like crazy

the only reason why im worried is that my doctor said it could be a sign of a miscarrige, gas, or stretching. i dont know im just so paranoid.

Pains are normal as long as there is no bleeding with the pains which can mean miscarriage.
THe sharp pains could just be your ligaments stretching and making room for the baby to grow and move around.
its most likely gas or stretching.
try not to worry too much, i worry a little more than i should too.

I remember when i was going to my family doctor for the first time [ i had just found one when i found out about my pregnancy] that i was in the shower, and started to feel this pain, i had to get out and sit down it hort so bad, then i had to hold on to my computer desk cuz it was hurting so bad too, i thought something was wrong, but everything was fine, just stretching and gas, i heard the baby's heart beat that day too Smile

It is called round ligament or long ligament pains and it is normal. Mention it to your doctor at your next appointment. Wink

These pains have nothing to do with the baby or the baby's health. It is your stomach stretching. Always assume your child is growing normally and that your pregnancy is normal unless you are told something different by your doctor. Every woman worries needlessly over their pregnancy - think of how much time is wasted on that? Your baby is fine.
