shaving pubic hairs
Posted: 04-30-08 13:35pm

I have public hair growing down on the inside of my thighs. I have to shave it off daily and I get red ingrown hairs. I've also used Nair. Therefore I try not to wear a swimsuit. I have thought about shaving my whole pubic area and around the anus too but am afraid I will cut myself. Anyone got any ideas?

I had a bit of a giggle when I saw you typing error: ‘public’ hair. Yes, that is ultimately what it is when you don’t shave. I have the same problem. The rash is as good as a neon sign saying: guess who shaved in a very private place yesterday?

I used tea tree oil on the effected area, and it helped tremendously, but I had laser therapy that solved the problem eventually.
Ps. Not a good idea to shave everywhere. The hair will only grow back darker and courser.

ooooooooo NO! i too got tired of shaving down there...i bought myself some Nair wax....OW OW OW OW OW...that was the most painful thing EVER! If you do it, go get it done..I would advise you not to do it yourself...i left one wax strip on for 15 minutes bc the first one was just SO painful to me and i just didn't want to pull it off...leaving it on for that long wasnt a good idea..it just prolonged the agony...i will never..ever get anything other than my eyebrows waxed again..period Smile

I personally stick to nair and the razor, i just make sure I have plenty of shave cream

I'm all about waxing! Been doing it for years and would never, ever go back to shaving. To say the first time is painful, is an UNDERSTATEMENT! LOL It kills. But the more you go the less it hurts. I'm to the point now where I only have to go ever 8 weeks!! The hair is much thinner and softer. Almost feels like peach fuzz : )

If your uncomfortable with waxing and still want to shave........ try TEND SKIN.
YOu should be able to find it at any higher end salon that does waxing. Put it on every day after the shower. You will see a HUGE improvement!!!
Good Luck!!

Try an emjoy, that's what i use (electric) Or waxing. It's better than shaving. It lasts longer too. Or you could go for electrolisis (laser hair removal like Beline)which is a fantastic idea and I hope to do it someday.

I shave it all!!!! For some reason, I have always thought it disgusting to have hair anywhere down there. I refuse to wax because I had my upper lip done once and left thinking the salon ought to be brought up on charges of torture! I had several friends who had laser therapy done... I've had my first treatment and look forward to the next 3 or 4. I can't wait for the day I am hair free. YIPPEE Wink However, it is not pain free either. It is quick though and does not linger like the sting from the waxing.
