Shiny red bump?
Posted: 05-13-08 22:13pm

I recently discovered a small bump on the back of my neck. It itches and is dry. Its flat but, like raised off the skin. To get an idea of what it looks like, put a nickel on your skin. (bout the same size except its red) I'm kinda worried, is it anything serious?

How long has it been there? It may just be a dry skin patch, but if doesn't go away in a couple of weeks, I would see a dermatologist. Have you tried an anti-fungal cream? It could be a ringworm, no big deal, and an anti-fungal or cortisone cream should clear it up. Do you have cats - this is where my daughter received her ringworms from. They make a spray or cream (anti-fungal).

its definately not a ringworm, which is more like a raised ring with a sunken center, the whole thing is raised and red.

Sorry you are still dealing with this, hopefully, it is psoriasis. I would definately get it checked out. Try not to worry, maybe a medical doctor can diagnose it, if not, he may refer you to a dermatologist.
