Slipped Capital Femoral Ephysis Posted: 01-10-07 14:28pm
I have recently been diagnosed with a
slipped capital femoral ephysis. I am 37
years old. I had never been told I had
this before. When I was a teenager I had
some problems with a limp and went to a
doctor who told me that one leg was
shorter than the other and that I had
scoliosis. He prescribed me with a lift
and I followed up with him for a couple of
years. No mention was ever made of the
slipped . . . .
I now am in severe pain and have been told
that it is a moderate slip with arthritis.
I have been trying to see a specialist
but without insurance am having a hard
time finding one.
I am having a really hard time just on day
to day activities. I have pain all down
my thigh and into my knee. My gp has
given me injections for the muscle spasms
but it seems to have quit working. He
said that he wouldn't feel comfortable
giving me an injection in my hip that he
would rather a specialist do it. But
there we go I can't get a specialist to
see me and my gp has been trying to get
someone to see me but hasn't had any luck.
Does anyone know if there is anything that
I can do to help with the pain and/or
exercises that I can do to help my
muscles.
