spinal surjury and pain control Posted: 06-14-08 02:40am
I had a spinal fusion, two replaced discs
and a cage around the area of L3 and L5. I
also have spinal stenosis, RA,
ostioarthritis and fibromyalgia. I have
spondolothesis and degenerative arthritis
in my back. I have had the arthritis and
fibroymialgia for some time. The back
surgery took place after two compressed
fractures from a fall at work. It took 7
months to get the surgery becuse this was
a workers comp.I have L3- L5 fused and in
a cage with screws. I also had to. It has
been 5 months since the surgery and I
still suffer with awful pain. The
arthritis has gotten much worse from lack
of any exercise and depression has set in
as well. My doctor is taking off pain meds
except for acetaminophen cod. I was told
last week at my appt can't start rehab
because he wants me to be fitted with a
bone growth stimulator as he isn't happy
with some of the fusion. If and when I
ever get it it will be six weeks wearing
it. The pain is real but they are weaning
me off any pain meds before the pain is
gone . Has any one got any help for me. My
family is affected and my husband and I
have become a recluse. Help
