Split condom after abortion, protected by Depo?
Posted: 05-19-08 07:00am

I had a medical abortion on the 22nd of April when i was 6 weeks pregnant. After recieving the first pill i passed a lot of clots and was bleeding very heavily. On the day of my abortion i was then given the second pills which helped end my pregnancy. I was kept in all day and was kept under close observation by the nurses. I was bleeding for 2 weeks after the abortion which i knew was very normal. I then had sex on the 11th of May and the condom unfortunately split. On the day of my abortion before i was allowed to go home i was given the contraception jag and after having sex when the condom split i went ot recieve the morning after pill. The pharmacist told me that it was not necessary for me to take it as i was already using a form of contraception. On the 16th of this month i began bleeding very heavily but it stops for a day then comes back the following day. There are some small pieces of tissue in it. I would just like to know what is going on and if my bleeding will stop?

Depo could be the reason you are bleeding. I took the Depo shot and I bled for 3 months. You may want to look into it, it may just not be the right BC for you. I had to take the pill. Good luck. I hope all is well.
