started Low-ogestrel with 12 day period ? Posted: 05-26-08 16:39pm
I just started taking birth control for
the first time. I'm taking Low-ogestrel. I
took the first pill on the first day of my
period, as directed by my doctor. That was
on May 16th. I have been bleeding since
then, this is the 11th day of bleeding.
Normally my periods last 5-7 days. Should
I be worried? Thank you.
Body needs few months to adapt to the
hormones from outside so side effects like
prolonged period or spotting are possible.
You shouldn't worry about them for now but
if bleeding becomes too heavy or prolonged
you can consult your gynecologist.
