still nursing!!
Posted: 03-27-08 19:09pm

It has been almost nine months since I had Brian and I am still nursing. Holy cow! I never thought I would go this long at all. He is 18 pounds and is in the 95% for height as well. He is definitely taking after my husband who is 6'6. It is amazing to me that a baby can gain so much weight just by nursing. It is just so incredible.

My other child is 4 years, 9 months and weighs only 32 pounds. He is in the 10th % for height. He is taking after me. Genetics at work.

Yay. Good for you!! Genetics can be funny sometimes. I think my daughter ended up with my husbands receding hairline!!!

it's inspiring to know you're still going at 9 months. i'm aiming for a year so it helps to know it can be done! my baby has inherited my pudginess i guess. she is almost 8 months and almost 21 pounds! i can't remember how long she is, i just know she is heavy because she's breaking my back.

good for you!! i hope it keeps going well and i'm glad your little guy is growing so well.

Wow. Congrats on you two as well. Your babies sound very healthy.
Brian is growing way too fast:( I want him to slow down a little, probably because I am almost positive this is our last one. He has six teeth. He has only bit me twice and that HURT! He laughed, little stinker.

Brian has been refusing baby food. I try everyday but he refuses. Two days ago, he took a spaghetti noodle off my plate and slurped it up. He actually slurped it up and started to laugh. It was so funny! He also ate some cheerios. I couldn't believe it. So, I gave him some steamed green beans and just cut them. He actually ate some. He refuses the baby food but likes table food. I may just skip the pureed stage since he is refusing.

Cheyenne absolutely refuses baby food too. She is 7.5 months, but doesn't have any teeth yet. She wants what we eat SO BAD, but without teeth it's hard to give her much off of the table. I bought her some of those Gerber puff snacks. They dissolve really quickly so I don't have to worry about her choking; she absolutely loves them. She's not been taking her bottles (or sleeping) very well lately either. I'm hoping it's just because of her teething.

Wow. I didn't mean to make this post all about my daughter. Your son sounds very healthy!! Kudos to still breastfeeding and OUCH for the biting!!

I am so glad you mentioned your daughter!! I forgot that she was only 7.5 months.

He bit me again last night in bed. I screamed! I have been cosleeping with him and need to transfer him to his crib now. He is not a good sleeper at all and wakes up constantly throughout the night. When I do put him in his crib, he wakes up even more. It is something I have to do or it will get worse (transfer him to his crib). I am so not looking forward to this transfer.

My milk is drying up. I nurse him all the time but sometimes I know that I have no more milk. When this happens, I give him the bottle and he drains it in about three minutes. That is so much easier than feeding him for about 45 minutes at a time, especially with a 4 year old. I was just nursing him but it hasn't been enough.

Brian is ADDICTED to those gerber puff snacks. He loves them! They are the best invented baby food ever.

How many teeth does he have now? Still no teeth here. I can't believe he would bite you with his teeth! ouch! I get bit with gums and it hurts bad enough. Is his crib in your room or is he getting his own room now?

6 teeth - 2 on bottom and 4 on top.

Ouch. Just bit me as I was typing this.

The crib is in his room. It doesn't fit in our room.
