I am pregnant and want to know if anyone has had any luck with skin care for stopping stretchmarks? I have heard that some are not safe to use and can harm my baby but I am so confused by which ones are ok and actually work to prevent stretchmarks, as I happily grow into my 9 month bump!

You cannot prevent or stop stretchmarks. It is hereditary whether or not you will get them. If your skin doesn't stretch, you get stretch marks. Use all the lotion and creams you want to, cocoa butter, vitamin E, etc - it won't make a difference. You will either get them or you won't.

I heard different. My mom used cocoa butter every day and did not get one mark. I also have had friends who used and did not get any marks. I also had a friend that used nothing because she heard nothing helps and now it looks like she has a dark purple road map on her belly. I'm going to use just to be safe. if it's a waste so be it

Sounds like genetics are on your side if your mom didn't get any. Trust me, ask your doctor and see what he says. Cocoa butter will make your skin feel great and there isn't anything wrong with it, but it will not prevent stretch marks. The person who invents the stretch mark cure will be a billionaire! Smile

Hey! Congrats on your pregnancy, I am 3 months pregnant and have had 8 girlfriends all use this product called belli skin care, Elasticity Belly Oil that helps to prevent stretchmarks. Their doctor told them it was the safest to use, then I saw it on a current affair the other night as well. I read up all about in on their website and it talks heaps about what is safe, really interesting. None of my friends got ANY stretchmarks at all and swear by this for stopping stretch marks. I have only just started using it but so far so good! I ordered all of their other skin care for pregnancy and LOVING it. Wish you all the best for the months ahead, we are together in the skin stretch J dont forget to join the VIP thing on their site before you order, you get a discount that way, i forgot myself but definitely worth it you get 15% off. Good luck.

Personally i think anything that says it prevents them is bull. You either get them or you don't. I have them, they don't look fantastic but i still wear exactly what i want and will buy my 1st ever bikini this summer 2 years after i've given birth
