I'm 31 year old female. I had rny gastric
bypass 5 years ago. I take a daily aspirin
because I have a history of TIA
(ministroke) and DVT. About 2 months ago I
had complete watery diarrhea for 2-3 days.
I would drink water then immediately have
to go the restroom and have a watery BM. I
took Pepto and the stools became loose but
still very frequent. I would typically
have 2-3 bms a day and now I was having
2-3 bms before I would make it to work,
then 2 more by lunchtime. Even after I had
a BM I would feel crampy and like I needed
to "go". I saw my PCP and having recently
taken a trip she gave me a 3 day course of
antibiotic. The stools were then well
formed for about 5 days, but the frequency
barely improved. A few days off the
medication and the stool became soft
again. I saw the PCP again and it was
suggested I stay away from lactose for a
couple weeks. I'm on week two of soy milk,
etc. and still am having frequent early
morning bm's but now towards the end of
the day I feel like I need to go but I
can't go....like I'm constipated. I know
what my normal is and what typically
triggers loose stools and none of what is
happening normal in any way. I've seen
blood a coupld of times, but I also have a
history of a fissure so blood given all
the straining, etc blood did not concern
me.
