Hi. The past two weeks i have been
experiencing many signs of pregnancy. Such
as vomitting, nausea, swollen tummy,
fatigue, migranes, mood swings, making
more bathroom trips, and darker stools. I
have been on birth control since october,
and my period has been regular. I was
sick a few weeks ago, and the doctor
perscribed amoxicilin, which can delete
the effectiveness of birth control. I
didn't know this until a follow up
appointment on 3/06/08 and my boyfriend
and I had sex 2 days, the days before my
ovulation peek (3/04/08 and 3/05/0. I was suppose to
start my period 3/22/08. I had light
bleeding for three days, but nothing like
i usually have. Anyways i took one home
pregnancy test last night and it was
negative, and one this morning at 530 and
then another at 830. All of them have
been negative. AHHH!!! My boyfriend and I
are terrified because we don't know what
to do since i have all these symptoms.
Please help!!!

You did not have an ovulation peak,
because you were on birth control. It
takes away your normal cycle, so you
cannot predict ovulation at all when you
are taking birth control.
If it has been two weeks since you had the
unprotected sex, then an HPT will be
accurate. Because you had a period and
because you are getting negative results,
I'd say you're not pregnant and just
reading into normal PMS feelings too
much.
However, give it another week and test in
the morning again. Testing multiple times
a day is just a waste of a pregnancy test.

Pregnant, stopped taking birth control and now bleeding Posted: 04-01-08 14:10pm
Ok. So I found Out I was pregnant three
days ago. Well that is what the Home
Pregnancy test showed. So I should of been
about 4 weeks into pregnancy. So I stopped
taking my birth control. Three Days after
stopping the birth control, I have started
to have very bad pains in my stomach and
cramping like crazy. Today I started to
bleed moderately. But it has gotten
heavier over the day. Does this mean I am
going through a Miscarriage or that i
wasnt really pregnant???

Well, HPT's rarely give false positives,
so there's a few things that could be
happening.
1. You misread the test after the
suggested time limit and only saw an
evaporation line, making the test look
positive, and you are now experiencing
normal withdraw bleeding.
2. You were pregnant and are now
miscarrying.
I'd go to a doctor and explain your
situation. They can do a blood test, which
can determine if you are pregnant right
now. Pee tests are great because they're
cheap, but unfortunately they can continue
to give positives for weeks after a
miscarriage because of how the HCG gets
into the urine. It goes into the blood
first, so it obviously will be gone from
the blood first after a miscarriage,
abortion or birth.
