What happens when you do not take synthroid? What are the effects to a person who has had their thyroid removed, and they do not take synthroid?

All the effects of hypothyroidism- and if it gets serious enough, it could be really problematic. Your thyroid levels are important to every aspect of your life.

* Feeling tired, weak, or depressed.
* Dry skin and brittle nails.
* Not being able to stand the cold.
* Constipation.
* Memory problems or having trouble thinking clearly.
* Heavy or irregular menstrual periods.

(according to web md)

weight gain is another I've heard, and also general lethargy.
