Tanning?
Posted: 05-27-08 11:08am

So here's the deal- I am in a wedding on Saturday, wearing a tea-length sleeveless dress.

I got sunburned on Sunday, so I have major t-shirt tan lines right now that I need to get rid of.

Originally, I was planning on getting airbrushed or getting a mystic tan, because I'm not too into skin cancer.

But now, I have this old sunburn that I need to blend in. What are my best options?

PS I burn really really easily. The last time I went tanning (the only time) I was in for 5 minutes and came out burned.

What do you all suggest? I want to blend in the burn I got this weekend, and also have some color for the wedding.

perhaps go and get a light spray tan. but if it is red then i dont think there is much you can do about it.

Wear a sleevless shirt and go lay in the sun so the rest of your body will get sun too. I know how it feels to get sun burnt, cause I have really fair skin too. My back got really sunburnt yesterday when i went swimming!

I would put on something that would not leave tan lines and lay in the sun to get some color on the whiter areas. Then go get a spray or mystic tan done. That will hopefully even out the color.

I went in to the salon and they recommended the mystic tan (which I did) and said not to get a real tan, because that could just make it worse. So hopefully the mystic tan will help, at least make it less obvious!

Thanks for all your suggestions!

I smell like a cake- there's a slight scent of cooking and then the vanilla stuff they put in it- together it smells like I'm a big cake.

hahaha i know that smell...i've done the mystic tanning many times..i'm fair to and am completely against tanning beds..bad bad! hope the mystic tan worked out well for you! it was probably the best option..any more tanning probably would have led to more burning/peeling ..bleh

Okay, this is what i say it is very hard to get a good mysitc tan you turn orange and if i were you i would rather go burned than go looking like an orange just my opinion. . But then again i am a regular tanner and happen to like it very much i use only the bronzer bed and either way you can get skin cancer from that sun burn or the tanning bed so i geuss that is again my own opinion i hope that everything works out good luck and have fun at the wedding

if you dont go crazy with the mystic tan you dont turn orange..i've done it several times and its very natural looking..of course..if you're white as a ghost and you try to do the darkest shade available it isn't going to look right..just try going a shade darker...the assistant there should be able to judge what would be best for you..i usually do a level 2 and its perfect! but...just make sure you dont get in a hurry with the hand/feet blending cream haha..i made that mistake once...not good

It actually turned out really well- pretty natural looking, and mostly even too. Just a couple of places (like bright white armpits) where it's obvious- I'll make sure those get covered next time.
